This series of medical illustrations shows arthroscopic subacromial decompression shoulder surgery to repair tendinitis and inflammation of the left shoulder AC joint, secondary to a potential rotator cuff ligament tear. The images show an acromioplasty procedure with the surgeon removing bone spurs that irritate and fray the tendons of the rotator cuff muscle (supraspinatus).
